To get started, click the “book a service” button at the top of the page. After we get your information we will contact you by phone to schedule a free consultation with one of our designers. At this point, we go over a list of what you are wanting in your backyard project. We will also go through a series of other questions so that our designers are aware of your expectations. Some things that we would like to have before our designers come to your property are to have a copy of the property survey, or set of house plans, and any engineering that you may have.

Design Consultation This is to get to know you to better design your pool. This process involves a consultation with your personal Grimes Pools Consultant. If the entire family is there, all can be involved to tell us about their wishes and visions for your custom backyard project. We’ll discuss your budget and take measurements and lots of pictures of the site for your future project.

In-Office Second Appointment: At this appointment, your designer brings your ideas to life. With project design software, you can virtually show you your new outdoor space. You will feel fully immersed in your project.

Next, we help you choose your materials. With help of our experts, you will have the opportunity to touch, feel, and match the materials. We also carry a large selection of finishes for the inside of your pool. We are there to guide you every step of the way.

Drafting & Permitting

Drafting/Permit Process: The 3D Design created during the design phase gives the vision for the project. The project manager focuses and refines it and construction documents fill in all the details. The final set of drawings specifies all the elements of the project. This includes the structures to the color choices. Our construction documents serve two purposes, to apply for (and receive) building permits from the city or other local authority and to construct the project. Here are the following steps to the drafting and permit process:

  • Drafting
  • Engineering (if applicable)
  • Completed construction plans
  • Utilities
  • Permitting by the city
  • Pre-construction meeting (required)
  • Tentative dig date
